Andover MN Chiropractor Says
I WILL FIGHT FOR IT

There are 3 things I will fight for: God, family, and chiropractic in Andover MN. Last week I had to help defend chiropractic at the state capitol. I know nothing about politics, and I couldn't tell you the difference between the House and the Senate. In fact, I had to Google the directions to the state capitol building.

The Politics of Chiropractic

The Minnesota Chiropractic Association (a small self-interest group which I am NOT affiliated) was trying to pass a bill to "broaden the scope of chiropractic". It REMOVED the language of subluxation. It also CHANGED the language so that chiropractic would ultimately include: acupuncture, massage therapy, physical therapy, and maybe even writing prescriptions.

So why does all this matter? If this bill were to pass, the definition of what chiropractic is and what a chiropractor does would become even more blurry than it already is. I'll bet that if you were to ask 20 people what chiropractic is, you would get 20 drastically different answers. This is CRAZY, but true. Everyone has heard of chiropractic, but NO ONE knows what IT is.

Wouldn't it be nice to tell your family, friends, and co-workers that you see a chiropractor without them thinking you're going to some voodoo witch doctor? Wouldn't it be great if you could tell someone you get adjusted regularly without them asking you "what's wrong"? Wouldn't it be refreshing if others supported your decision to bring your entire family to a chiropractor?

The Importance of Defining Chiropractic in Andover MN

How cool would it be if you could tell a medical doctor that you have a chiropractor and they wouldn't lose total respect for you? What if all hospitals and birth centers made it standard procedure for all newborns to have their spines checked? And personally, I think it would be much safer if all chiropractors became a master of the adjustment instead of a jack-of-all-trades.

I wasn't just looking for a fight. I truly believe that our world would be a better place if everyone had a chance to experience regular chiropractic care. The only thing standing in the way is a LACK of understanding of what chiropractic is.

Because of our efforts at the capitol that day, the bill did not get passed. We won the battle, but the war is not over. I will continue to fight for it!
