Andover MN Chiropractor Explains
Love and Respect

Chiropractic Andover MN Heart in Hands

In our church small group we have been studying a series called "Love and Respect" by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. It focuses on the dynamic relationship of a married couple and how spouses can effectively communicate with each other. Needless to say, I am learning A LOT.

Your Relationship with Your Body

In this Thought, I'd like to explore the relationship you have with your body in Andover MN. Now, I realize this may sound weird. Most people think of themselves and their body as one and the same. I truly believe that we are a soul housed in a body. If you have ever stood by the bedside when a loved one breathed their last breath, you've witnessed this. The soul emerges. The body is left behind. I once read this quote: "We do not have a soul. We are a soul. We have a body."

So how is your relationship with your body? What messages do your thoughts, words, and actions communicate to your body? Do they convey love and respect? What am I even talking about?? Here are some examples…

Your Actions Speak Louder Than Words in Andover MN

Medication- "I'm too stupid to heal and function on my own."
Pain killers- "Shut up, you're annoying me."
Vaccines- "I'm too weak to defend myself."
Sugar- "Great, my cancer cells were hungry."
Alcohol- "Life sucks; let's drown ourselves."
Fast food- "How am I supposed to build healthy cells with this?"
Negative thoughts- "If the boss ain't happy, NO ONE is."

OR

Fruits, vegetables, protein- "YES!.. Fuel and building blocks for a better body."
Exercise- "This is what I was BORN to do!"
Water- "I love you, too."
Sleep- "Thank you for scheduling time to rest and repair."
Adjustments- "So THIS is what it feels like to function at 100%…AWESOME!"
Positive Thoughts- "Thank you for pointing me in the right direction."

Can you see how these two sets of messages are different? One sends a message of love and respect; the other does not. Just like a marriage, your relationship with your body will not last without love and respect. In fact, if you ignore your body's needs long enough, it just might decide to leave you.
